This is an opinion piece that was recently published. I don't know the commentator but she is correct. For many years I've wondered how deeply the board dives into the overwhelming amount of information they are asked to digest and vote on each month. It is my firm believe that board members must get any questions answered and fully understand recommendations put before them prior to voting on a matter. Each board member does not need to be an expert in every detail, and it's not the boards responsibility to set procedures for any directive, but the board must provide diligent oversight for the benefit of all stakeholders.
